Lord Huron brings his Cosmic Selector to Raleigh w/ Lee Fields & The Expressions 8/5/25

Lord Huron (lordhuron.com) headlined the Cosmic Selector Vol. 1 Tour at Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh, NC, on August 5, 2025. Led by Ben Schneider (vocals, guitar), the Los Angeles–based band includes Tom Renaud (guitar), Mark Barry (drums), and Miguel Briseño (bass). Their latest album, The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1, released July 18, 2025, features the single “Looking Back,” and explores themes of fate and memory, with Schneider performing guitar, harp, and cello. Signed to Mercury Records, their discography includes Lonesome DreamsStrange TrailsVide NoirLong Lost, and the newest release. Their North American and European tour spans major cities including Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, London, Berlin, and Paris. Onstage in Raleigh, they delivered a cinematic set with dreamy, cosmic visuals, interpretive dancers casting mysterious shadows, a 1970’s style payphone, and magic, glowing jukebox with which you can select your destiny… The crowd stayed engaged throughout, singing along to fan favorites like “The Night We Met” and “Wait by the River.” Merchandise booths featured cosmic-themed apparel, vinyl, posters, and limited-edition items.

Lee Fields & The Expressions (leefieldsandtheexpressions.com) opened the night with a powerful set of classic soul. The Expressions—Thomas Brenneck (guitar), Benny Trokan (bass), Victor Axelrod (keys), Evan Pazner (drums), Frederick Deboe (saxophone), and Jason Colby (trumpet)—performed in coordinated vintage-style attire. Their discography includes albums like Special NightIt Rains LoveBig Crown Vaults, and Sentimental Fool, released under Truth & Soul and Daptone Records. Lee Fields’s commanding vocals and direct crowd engagement lit up the venue, especially on songs like “Ladies” and “Honey Dove.” The crowd was visibly energized, dancing and cheering with each number. Their merchandise offered vinyl, shirts, and signed posters. Backstage, Fields made time to meet staff and crew, adding a warm personal touch to the tour experience.
