The Lenovo Center in Raleigh reverberated with an electricity so tender and fierce that it could only have belonged to the “Love Hate Music Box Tour.” Rainbow Kitten Surprise (RKS) held court, offering the deeply poetic and vulnerable magic they’re known for, transcending the stage to become something otherworldly, a collective experience between band and fans. This tour, which spans 30 dates, ventures through intimate theaters and iconic venues across the United States, inviting audiences into the profound dichotomy of love and hate, light and shadow that threads through their sound. The tour will complete its poetic journey in Atlanta, GA, on December 10, 2024, leaving behind a trail of catharsis and revelation that only RKS can impart.

From Boone, North Carolina, Rainbow Kitten Surprise is made up of five dynamic musicians: Ela Melo (vocals), Darrick “Bozzy” Keller (guitar), Ethan Goodpaster (lead guitar), Charlie Holt (bass), and Jess Haney (drums). Each member’s intricate talent is woven into a fabric that is wholly immersive, a spectral dance of rhythm and lyricism that entrances and lingers. Their catalog includes albums like Seven (2013), RKS (2015), and How to: Friend, Love, Freefall(2018), all available at RainbowKittenSurprise.com. Fans clutch cherished merchandise—soft tees, vinyl pressings, lyric books—as symbols of the night’s resonance, of having seen the ethereal unfold before them. Joining them on this tour is the evocative indie-soul band, The Brook & The Bluff, originating from Birmingham, Alabama. Joseph Settine’s vocals entwine with John Canada’s drums, Fred Lankford’s bass, and Alec Bolton’s guitar, creating a harmonic enchantment that leaves no heart untouched. Their discography, crowned by the acclaimed albums First Place (2019) and Yard Sale (2021), is found on TheBrookandTheBluff.com.
