The Band Camino brought their Taking Shape Tour to The Ritz in Raleigh July 31st, 2024, and it was nothing short of a celebration. Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, the trio—Jeffery Jordan (vocals, guitar), Spencer Stewart (vocals, guitar), and Garrison Burgess (drums)—delivered a powerful set that had the crowd singing every word. The tour, named after their latest album Taking Shape, has been a journey across 30 cities and will wrap up in Los Angeles on September 28th. Their blend of alt-rock and synth-pop carried through hits like “Underneath My Skin” and “See Through,” alongside tracks from their earlier albums like tryhard (2019) and their self-titled The Band Camino(2021). Each song was met with ecstatic energy from the fans, as if they were waiting for this moment all year. For those who missed the action, more can be found at thebandcamino.com.

Opening the night was Knox, a rising indie artist from Knoxville, Tennessee, whose set showcased the raw emotion of his 2023 EP How to Lose a Girl in 7 Songs. With Knox (vocals, guitar) at the helm, the band played songs about heartbreak and personal growth, resonating deeply with the audience. The crowd swayed and sang along, captivated by his earnest lyrics and stripped-down sound. The merch table saw plenty of action, with fans grabbing up tour shirts, posters, and vinyl—testament to the connection these bands have with their listeners. For more on Knox, visit knoxmusic.com. It was a night of honest music and genuine emotion, with both bands leaving a lasting impression on everyone in the room.
