Boyz II Men rolled into Raleigh’s Coastal Credit Union Music Park on September 6, 2024, serenading the night with their signature harmonies. Hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the trio—Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris, and Shawn Stockman—brought their decades of chart-topping R&B hits to life with a full band backing them. The rhythm section was as smooth as their voices, with Troy Taylor on keys, Keith Wright holding down the bass, and Brandon Carter keeping time on the drums. This show was part of their 20-city tour, and if you missed it, the final date is set for October 12 in Los Angeles. More details can be found at their official site Boyz II Men.
Opening for Boyz II Men was none other than Robin Thicke, a soulful crooner from Los Angeles. Thicke, known for his breakthrough hit “Blurred Lines,” delivered a sultry set of smooth, danceable tunes. Backed by his own band, including session guitarist Kevin Childs, bassist Alex Stevenson, and drummer David Bloom, Thicke had the crowd swaying along. His latest album, On Earth, and in Heaven, was a highlight, along with older hits from his discography like The Evolution of Robin Thicke. You can check out more about his music and tour at Robin Thicke.
Boyz II Men’s set was a mix of nostalgia and new tracks. They took us back with classics from Cooleyhighharmony and II, while newer songs from Collide made their mark as well. Of course, no show was complete without “End of the Road,” which had everyone in the crowd singing along. The merch booth was hopping all night, with tour tees, signed posters, and vinyl copies of their albums up for grabs. The night felt like a celebration of a sound that’s spanned decades, and if you haven’t caught this tour yet, grab tickets while you still can—because like all good things, it’s going to end sooner than you think.
