The Goo Goo Dolls and Blue October presented their “Summer Tour 2022” to thousands of loyal fans at the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Blue October opened the night. And I gotta say Blue October’s frontman is unforgettable in his performance. You really have to watch his antics closely. He’s continually sneaking in, miming actually, personal humor. A great frontman! All the while, the band is right there with the theme. The band was truly having a good time, not missing a note or phrase, the fans getting a real treat.

The Goo Goo Dolls delivered a fine performance. It was tough getting a good shot as the photographers that evening were pushed back to the soundboard behind most of the audience. So I didn’t get much, spending my time jockeying for position to find space between the heads for a shot of the band. A very painful heart wrenching setup for a music photographer. In any case, the first three songs we were given to photograph were well received by the loyal fans. A good crowd. Perfect weather too. Another perfect evening in North Carolina.
