Wow. Being witness to such a brilliant group of musicians at DPAC in Durham, NC, an acoustically preeminent space, was extraordinary. My ears will never be the same. The venue itself, renowned for its sound quality, only enhanced the experience, making every note and riff resonate with pristine clarity. From the moment the lights dimmed and the first chord was struck, it was clear that this was going to be a night to remember.
Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators brought the house down. The band lineup was stellar: Slash on guitar, Myles Kennedy on vocals, Frank Sidoris on guitar, Todd Kerns on bass, and Brent Fitz on drums. Each member brought their unique talent and energy to the stage, creating a powerful and cohesive performance. Slash’s guitar work was, as always, phenomenal—his solos slicing through the air with precision and intensity. Myles Kennedy’s vocals were nothing short of spectacular, delivering each song with passion and power.
One thing that jumped out at me was that these guys were having fun up there, not just toughing it out for the buck. Although I’m sure they made a few as the house was packed. I couldn’t even park at the venue. The parking deck was full, so I had to hustle and walk a few blocks, toting my gear to get to the venue in time. Thank goodness my plan to get there early paid off. The atmosphere inside was electric, with fans eagerly anticipating the performance. The band’s chemistry was evident, and their enjoyment was contagious, making the experience all the more exhilarating.
